Electrification of the transport sector will be a key enabler for reducing CO2 emissions, enabling fossil fuels to be replaced by renewable and climate neutral energy. Electric powered vehicles such as cars, busses, trucks, trains and ships will become cyber-physical systems, having autonomous and cooperative capabilities to enhance safety and functionality, while minimizing energy consumption. CPSe focuses on the challenges to design the next generations of electrical vehicle systems. This includes the design of the power-train to improve energy efficiency, control strategies for driver assistance and enhancing battery lifetimes, and cost-efficient embedded platforms with design automation techniques for time-predictable and composable application integration.
