Smart optical monitoring for condition based maintenance

In this project innovative ways to monitor the condition of underground infrastructure such as gas and water delivery networks will be explored. A testbed will be created to investigate smart sensing methods based on fiber optics which can improve the safety and reduce the frequency of maintenance in such networks.
