The Get in the Ring Foundation connects startups globally in a fun and effective way to resources they need to become successful. At the Netherlands event on the 17^th of November, the most promising startups in the Netherlands participated in a day filled with pitching opportunities in front of champion investors, attended insightful workshops, received pitch training, and networked among fellow innovators and investors. On the day, 300 startups went through selection pitches in front of investors. These jury members selected 6 startups to battle on the main stage in the final round. In this final round, the 6 six startups, divided in 3 weight classes, faced off against each other in the ring. During five rounds they presented their startup to a jury of Champion investors and an audience of 1500 potential investors and fans. Three winners will go to the Global Final in Singapore in May 2017: FreshStrips (light-weight), Flex-Appeal (middle-weight) & Mellon Medical (heavy-weight).

Fresh Strips is developing a technology that changes color to indicate whether foods or medical supplies have been exposed to excessively high temperatures and can still be consumed or used, based on technology developed within SFD.
