Vidi grant of 800,000 euro for Daniël Lakens

30 May Daniël Lakens received an Vidi grant of 800,000 euro for his social-psychological research. He is increasingly occupied with the methodology and reliability of science in itself. Lakens is an assistant professor at Human-Technology Interaction and associated with the Center for Humans and Technology.

With the Vici grant he is keen to research how psychologists can generate empirical knowledge as efficiently as possible, taking account of both statistical aspects and the resources and aims of researchers. He hopes this will lead to recommendations that will make psychological research both more reliable and more efficient. The grant makes it possible to finance two PhD’s and a postdoc to carry out this research.

Vidi is a funding instrument in the Innovational Research Incentives Scheme. It allows researchers who have already spent several years doing postdoctoral research to develop their own innovative line of research, and to appoint one or more researchers for this.
