EMI-Symposium Numerics & Aerodynamics

A major challenge of the numerical simulation of wind-farm-wake aerodynamics is its strong multiscale character, in both space and time. Mimetic numerical methods and model-order reduction play a crucial role in adequately addressing this multiscale character.

On March 19, 2013, 16:00 h., at the TU/e, Benjamin Sanderse will defend his doctoral thesis entitled Energy-Conserving Discretization Methods for the Incompressible Navier-Stokes Equations. Application to the Simulation of Wind-Turbine Wakes.

On the occasion of and preceding to this thesis defense, two distinguished members of the doctoral committee will speak about aforementioned methods for multiscale problems.
