RP2: Model Based Design
The future mechatronic system will be designed as a cyber multi-physical system using model-based systems engineering tools. The design budgeting over hardware and software will be automated and optimized, supported by virtual machines. Error budgeting for thermal behavior as well as cost will lead to optimal system designs.
