RESEARCH PROFILE
1990- date: Full Professor Energy Technology, Dept. Mech. Engng., TU/e 2002- 2006: Part-time Professor BioHeat Transfer, Dept. Biomed. Engng, TU/e 2003: Visiting Professor AIST-Tsukuba, Japan 1985-1990: Associate Professor (Bio-)Fluid Mechanics, TU/e 1979-1985: Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering, TU/e 1975-1979: PhD-study at TU/e and Maastricht University (profs.Veenstra and Reneman) 1969-1975: MSc-study Technical Physics at TU/e (Cum Laude). Early research is focussed on bio-fluid flows and from the mid-nineties on convective heat transfer and transitional flows. Present heat transfer research interests are: transitional mixed convection, transitional flows in turbo-machinery, granular fouling, sustainable energy technology, micro-cooling and bio-thermal problems.
