RESEARCH PROFILE
Arthur Hendriks works as a doctoral candidate in the Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics (PSN) group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) focusing on the field of nanophotonics. His research is on the development of novel fiber-tip sensors based on photonic crystals. Arthur’s goals are to optimize these fiber-tip sensors to be highly functional, have a low cost, be scalable, and have a wider range of applications in industry.
Combining the power of optical fibers and photonic crystals for the next generation of fiber-tip sensors.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Arthur Hendriks has obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), in 2018 and 2020 respectively. During his master’s he did an internship at the Magnetic Thin Film Group of Argonne National Laboratory, Chicago. Subsequently, he completed his graduation project in the Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics (PSN) group. His project was on measuring high density quantum dot structures using cross-sectional scanning tunneling microscopy. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in the same research group, where his research focuses on nanophotonic fiber-tip sensors.
