Ballard Asare-Bediako

Ballard Asare-Bediako completed his bachelor education in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. From August 2004 to July 2005, he worked as a student assistant at KNUST organizing tutorial lectures for undergraduate electrical engineering students. From August 2005 to August 2008, he worked as a SCADA/EMS technician with Siemens AG, Power Transmission and Distribution Energy Automation 3 Group in collaboration with CBB Software AG on a project in Nigeria. In September 2008, he joined the MSc programme in Sustainable Energy Technology at the University of Twente.  However, he worked on his graduation thesis at Eindhoven University of Technology from December 2009, on the topic “Laboratory-scale implementation of agent-based active distribution network.”  He did his PhD studies from September, 2010 to December 2014 on the topic “Smart Energy Home and the Smart Grid: A framework for intelligent energy management for residential customers. The project put important steps towards a truly integrated and efficient energy management system for the housing environment where distributed energy resources are incorporated. He is with the HAN University of Applied Science as a Senior Researcher on Smart Grids.
