RESEARCH PROFILE

Chris Vu is currently a PhD candidate in the Molecular Biosensing group (MBx). His research focuses on novel real-time biosensing technologies for industrial process monitoring in the food industry.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Chris Vu studied Biomedical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and obtained his BSc degree in 2018. He subsequently started his MSc degree in Medical Engineering at the TU/e, specializing in the field of clinical chemistry. During this period, he joined interdisciplinary student team T.E.S.T. and participated in the international student competition SensUs, where he worked on the detection of therapeutic antibody Adalimumab using bioluminescent sensor proteins. He then performed his graduation project in the Chemical Biology group of Prof. Luc Brunsveld in collaboration with the Expert Clinical Chemistry Center Eindhoven, in which he focused on the development of a mass spectrometry-based assay for the quantification of protein tumor marker NSE. After obtaining his MSc degree in 2021, he started as a PhD candidate in the MBx research group under the supervision of Prof. Menno Prins.
