Emmanouil Archontakis is currently a doctoral candidate in the Molecular Biosensing for diagnostics (MBx) group. His main reserach focuses on the understanding of the structure and function of catalytic nanoparticles, antibody-functionalized nanoparticles, as well as supramolecular fibers by implementing and applying optical super resolution microscopy techniques.
Emmanouil Archontakis obtained a Bsc in Physics (2015) from the University of Crete (UoC) in Greece and a Msc in "Photonics & Nanoelectronics" (2017) from the same department. During his master studies performed an internship at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL - F.O.R.T.H) and focused on the development and application of non-linear optical microscopy techniques (high harmonics, two-photon fluorescence) with emphasis on femtosecond short laser pulses, optics, optical cavities.
