Evangelos Kyrou

RESEARCH PROFILE

Evangelos is a post-doctoral researcher in the Unit Building Physics and Services at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His work focuses on making the existing housing stock more sustainable, as being one of the major challenges in the context of the climate objectives. Specifically, he is involved in the research and development of the national calculation model for the renovation of the existing residential building stock, based on which, independent and thorough sustainability advice is expected to be obtained. This action will be important to offer perspective to corporations and private home owners.

Evangelos holds a PDEng title from the program of "Smart Buildings & Cities", working also with the Building Performance Simulation team and the Real Estate Management of TU/e (Dienst Huisvesting). He has focused on sustainability and design aspects of the built environment, using modelling and simulation tools to evaluate energy and other aspects of performance.

As for his background, he holds a M.Sc. degree in Sustainable Engineering: Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (UK), and a M.Eng. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece).
