Fabian Visschers is a doctoral candidate in the Stimuli-responsive Functional Materials and Devices group under supervision of prof. dr. Albert Schenning, prof. dr. Dick Broer and dr. Danqing Liu. Fabian works on oscillating surface topographies by making use of electroactive polymers. Such electrically driven dynamic surfaces can find applications ranging from haptics and optics to switchable wettability or adhesion control.
Fabian Visschers received his bachelor’s degree in 2014 at the Radboud University in Nijmegen after completing a project on tuning hydrogels in the group of prof. dr. Alan Rowan. In 2017 he also obtained his master’s degree in Chemistry at the Radboud University specializing in the tracks molecular materials and chemistry for life. During his master’s degree, Fabian did an industrial internship at Océ – A Canon Company in Venlo where he studied the kinetics of UV-curing inks. His graduation project titled ‘The transfer of information in artificial processive enzymes’ was carried out in the Physical-Organic & Supramolecular Chemistry group under supervision of dr. Hans Elemans and prof. dr. Roeland Nolte. He currently works as a doctoral candidate in the Stimuli-responsive Functional Materials and Devices group.
