Ginevra Sanvitale is a PhD student in the History Lab, Technology, Innovation and Society group. She works on the social and cultural significance of “fear of falling behind” in the history of computing, focusing on Cold War sociotechnical imaginaries in Italy and the United States (1970s-1980s). <br/> She obtained a Master degree with distinction in Cultural Anthropology from University of Bologna in 2016. Other research interests: the history of Free and Open Source software; underrepresented groups in the History of Technology (i.e. women, ethnic minorities, non-Western people); intersections between political and technological visions; utopian and dystopian thinking in computer narratives.
