RESEARCH PROFILE

Gizem Korpeoglu is an assistant professor of Innovative and Sustainable Business Models in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences. Her papers provide managerial and policy insights for practitioners using analytical models such as game theory and probability theory, quantitative research methods such as controlled laboratory experiments with human subjects, and qualitative research methods such as case studies. Her papers have been published at top management journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management. Her innovation contest papers received “winner” and “runner-up” awards at INFORMS Technology, Innovation Management, and Entrepreneurship Section (TIMES) best working paper competitions. Her innovation contest papers also received “paper of the month” awards from INFORMS TIMES. After joining TU/e, she received Irene Curie Fellowship, and established collaborations with organizers of local contests in Brainport region.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Gizem Korpeoglu received her PhD (and MS) from Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. She received her BS from Middle East Technical University. Before joining TU/e, she worked at Bilkent University Industrial Engineering Department as an assistant professor and at University College London School of Management as a postdoctoral research fellow of Management Science and Innovation.
