RESEARCH PROFILE

H.J.T. Dekker, MA, has bachelor degrees in history and philosophy and a research master degree from Utrecht University where he graduated in 2016 on the topic of different visions of science within Dutch learned societies between 1750 and 1900. Currently, he pursues a Ph.D. at the School of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences in the Technology, Innovation & Society group, within the project Bicycle Challenges: Past, Present and Future of Sustainable Urban Mobility. As a historian, he investigates cycling policy in the Netherlands at different government levels between 1920 and now.

His research interests currently lie in the diffusion of ideas and technologies and the role of different (governmental) actors and users in this process.
