Doctoral Candidate

Inmaculada Gimenez Garcia

The aim of the project "Novel thin-film coatings for next-generation polymer electrolyte fuel cells" is to develop synthetic methods to manufacture new ionomers and gas diffusion layers for high-performance fuel cells. Electrochemical methods will be employed on selected molecules with  to control the properties of catalytic layers. This will allow the development of advanced electrodes for next-generation PEFCs.

Inmaculada Giménez García received her BSc and MSc in Chemical Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain. For her Master Thesis she also studied at TUe, where she carried out her research on the development of porous metal electrodes for advanced alkaline electrolysis. After finishing her MSc in 2020 she started her PhD in the Membrane Materials and Processes Group, Department of Chemical Engineering & Chemistry, Eindhoven University of Technology.

Her expertises are Material Science, Electrochemical Systems and Membrane Technology
