RESEARCH PROFILE

Jorge is a designer from Lisbon, with life experiences in five European countries, and living in Eindhoven since 2007. He is an idealist and believes in the transformative power of the creative industries as an enabler for a better world. By nature, experience and urge, Jorge is an interdisciplinary person with a people-driven approach, in the intersection between academia, culture and business. His expertise is related to experience design, new media, interaction design and storytelling that channel impact, empowerment and value creation.   Prior to being in the Netherlands, he worked in the world of transmedia and interactive television, where he developed projects presented at the FMX Festival (Stuttgart), Cinekid (Amsterdam) and the Berlin Film Festival. The Faculty of Industrial Design TU/e was his first Dutch stop (as communication designer and researcher), followed by the ING Bank (as a customer experience strategist), the Designhuis (as creative leader) and the STRP Biennale (as business leader). The human approach in his work granted him a few awards and recognitions, including the Dutch Contact Centre Award for best online customer experience, and the first-round recognition of the top-10 most influential expats of Eindhoven in 2016.
