RESEARCH PROFILE

Currently, she is pursuing a PhD at the School of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences in the Technology, Innovation and Society group and the Operations, Planning, Accounting and Control group. She works on the Drivers of Sustainability (DOS) project, in the course of which she is looking into the sustainability developments in the Dutch- Kenyan flower supply chain between 1960 and 2020. 

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Klara Strecker obtained her Master's degree cum laude in Sustainability Science and Policy from Maastricht University. Hereby, her research focussed on postharvest loss and waste throughout the nutritional value chains of two crops in Uganda. For this purpose she spend some time in Uganda conducting field research. Amongst others, this experience triggered her interest in conducting further research in the context of Africa, particularly value chains connecting Africa to the global North.

Previously she obtained her Bachelor's degree in European Studies from Maastricht University as well.
