RESEARCH PROFILE
Koen Tiels is an Assistant Professor in the Control Systems Technology (CST) group where he focusses on identification of nonlinear dynamical systems. His research interests are in system identification and machine learning.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Koen Tiels obtained his master's degree in Electromechanical engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2010 and earned his PhD at the same university in 2015. He was a post-doctoral researcher at the VUB from 2015 till 2018 and at Uppsala University from 2018 till 2020. In February 2020, he joined the Control Systems Technology (CST) group in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) as an Assistant Professor.
