RESEARCH PROFILE

As doctoral candidate, Marijn Venderbosch will work on the design and implementation of a new experiment at Eindhoven University of Technology. The goal of the experiment is to trap single atoms in arrays using laser cooling techniques. After being cooled to a millionth of a degree above absolute zero, these atoms will be used as quantum bits.

Using laser pulses, in our lab we can trap individual atoms, arrange them into arbitrary configurations and control their quantum states".

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Marijn obtained his bachelor and master at Eindhoven University of Technology. His master thesis titled 'holographic optical tweezers for arrays of single atoms' was supervised by Edgar Vredenbregt and Servaas Kokkelmans.
