Roy Oerlemans received his MSc. in Molecular Life Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen in January 2015. During his Master education he carried out two internships in the Bio-Organic Chemistry group of professor Jan van Hest and Biomolecular Chemistry group of professor Ger Pruijn, working on activatable cell-penetrating peptides and leucine zipper fusion proteins, respectively. After working in the family business until May 2016, he started at ChemConnection B.V. as a member of the R&D team for the development of scalable synthesis routes for the GMP production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and nanomedicines. In 2018 he returned to academia by starting as PhD candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Bio-Organic Chemistry group of Professor Jan van Hest. He focuses on the development of biocompatible nanoreactors.
