If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. Everything should be made as simple as possible, including science, engineering, design and life, but not simpler.
Xinglong Guo is a visiting researcher of building performance in the Department of the Built Environment, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), and an associate professor in Jiangsu University in China. His current research focus on HVAC system and building energy performance simulation. His project undergoing is performance study of air source heat pump coupled with gas boiler in Dutch residential buildings. Recent years the overexploitation of natural gas has induced earthquakes frequently around the Groningen field. Dutch government has made several plans to step away from natural gas. In this energy revolution, replacing the gas boiler with a hybrid heat pump may be easier to be accepted by the householders, government and current electricity grid capacity. This project will obtain some valuable information about such a hybrid system. His another research field is about superconducting magnets and helium cryogenic system design used in high energy physics experiment and medical equipment.
Xinglong Guo obtained his bachelor degree in thermal energy and power engineering, master and doctor degree in refrigeration and cryogenic engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in China at 2004, 2006 and 2010 respectively. During his Ph.D study, his research is mainly in the fields of heat transfer and fluid mechanics in superconducting magnet and liquid helium cryogenic system. After getting his doctor degree, he work as a lecturer and then associate professor in the department of building environment and energy application engineering in Jiangsu University in China. Now he teaches several courses in undergraduate level in Jiangsu University, including “Building Energy Saving Technology”, “Refrigeration Technology in Air Conditioning Engineering”, and “Refrigerator Design”. He was the manager of several research projects supported by Chinese government and industry. He severed as a technical editor for the 23th 24th and 25th International Conference on Magnet Technology.
