Day 5: The sustainability challenges cities are facing

EnergyDays are English spoken!

The issue of 'The sustainability challenges cities are facing' was presented.

Since 2008, more than 50% of the world’s population is living in urban areas and this trend is expected to continue, in particular in Asia and Africa. Both megacities and smaller cities will have to deal with severe social and environmental problems. On the one hand, cities offer a favorable setting for dealing with these problems, on the other hand urbanization also increases poverty and pollution. The challenges our cities are facing was the topic of this EnergyDay.
