Grid-connected converters with voltage support using only local measurements
Power electronic converters have been widely applied to interface sustainable energy sources to the grid. Their main functionality is power delivery. This presentation introduces a scheme to upgrade these existing converters and extend their features to voltage support as well. Since only the converter output current and the local voltage are measured, its implementation is straightforward.
Ya Zhang was born in China, in 1988. She received the B.Sc. degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2011, and the M.Eng. degree and PDEng degree both from Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, in 2013 and 2015 respectively. Since then she has been with the same specialty in Eindhoven University of Technology and now she is a Ph.D. student in the group of Electromechanics and Power Electronics. Her interest focuses on power converters and digital control techniques applied in power electronics.
