Day 3: The Material Challenge - 17 March 2016

EnergyDays are English spoken!

The issue of 'The Material Challenge' was presented.

The availability and efficient (re)use of material resources is key to make the transition to a sustainable society. We will have to move from linear use of materials to a circular economy. In this EnergyDays, the material challenge will be approached from different directions. We will address the impact of scarcity in material resources and the need to innovate our technologies. We will focus on the demanding material requirements for future fusion reactors and the need for basic research on novel materials and concepts. Also we will take a look to research on clever product design to improve primary material use, resource efficiency and recycling possibilities.
