Energy at TU/e focuses on new technological solutions for societal problems like the exhaustion of fossil fuels, the harmful effects on the environment and climate change as well as the increasing need for energy from emerging economies.

There are four research themes: future fuels, energy conversion, built environment, fusion energy.

The Dutch renewable energy sector employs 17,300 people and has revenues of € 1.7 billion.

Solar-pv research is clustered in the Brainport Eindhoven Region through an alliance of companies and research organizations under the name Solliance.

400 TU/e researchers, 7 departments and 30 research groups are involved in Energy.

Energy related topics are an integral part of the study of around a third of TU/e students.

Within the 30 and 35% of the TU/e students have energy related topics in their study.

TU/e has 2 Masters, 20 specializations and 1 designer program within the Energy domain.

Participates in numerous innovation projects including ADEM, B-Basic, M2I and Topsector Energy

In the past 5 years TU/e has spawned some 10 new Energy related companies.
