The municipality of Eindhoven has decided to become energy neutral in 2045.

The municipality is doing a great job reaching this goal; but still, they might be missing that one bright solution. This year we started the search for that one bright solution in December. The Design Academy, Fontys and TU/e students were welcome to participate in the challenge individually or with a team (max. 4 persons.)

On 13 February 2015 the final day of the energy challenge, where the participating teams pitched their fine tuned concepts to an independent jury, entrepeneurs, experts and students. The jury consisted of Mary-ann Schreurs, Rick Harwig, Jan Roggeband, Frits Schutte and Kathelijn van der Ven, representing the municipality of Eindhoven, TU/e, Brainport, Procap and the student perspective respectively.

After ten inspiring pitches and some good dicussions, the jury, lead by the alderman of the municipality of Eindhoven, Mary-ann Schreurs decided that the combination of saving and generating energy in one window was the winning concept!

Congratulations Hitesh Khandelwal, Tugce Tosun Uslu, Michalis Kenelis and Roel Loonen. As organizing committee of this challenge we are proud of the results that the participants achieved. Great input, great vibe and awesome developments! Thank you all!

Also we are proud that so many people from different backgrounds have helped us to set up this event and make this event a great succes!

See you next year!!
