Care and Cure
The importance of the health field as a consumer of technological applications and, in particular, electrical engineering applications is ever growing. Just take a moment to consider complex and specialist equipment in hospitals, such as MRI scanners. Then contrast this with small gadgets and tools that enable people to continue living in their own home environments for longer, such as a wireless alarm system. Between these two extremes lie countless applications such as pacemakers, monitors of all sorts of biological signals, diagnostic equipment and resources used in the curative process. The development of these applications is the subject of the Care and Cure Master’s degree program. This is a highly dynamic field in which knowledge in the fields of electrical engineering, mathematics and computer science, physics and biology is integrated.
The Care and Cure Master’s degree program at Eindhoven University of Technology is a broad study. The compulsory courses are:
- Control engineering
- Signal processing
In addition, you have the choice of more than 30 elective courses, for example:
- Bioelectric physiology
- Fundamentals of medical image processing
- Biomedical sensing technology
- Knowledge systems and their applications
- Ubiquitous computing and activity recognition
- Pulsed power technology
- Embedded visual control
- Wireless communication
Your Master will include courses in the field of professional development and you will complete two internships. You will conclude your program with a research project.
The Care and Cure Master’s degree program is taught within the Department of Electrical Engineering. Once you have attained your Master’s diploma you will be an electrical engineer majoring in Care and Cure. In addition to your Master’s diploma, you will also receive the Care and Cure Master’s certificate.
