4TU|Centre for Ethics and Technology
The 4TU.Centre for Ethics and Technology (4TU.Ethics) brings together the expertise of three philosophy departments in the Netherlands (Delft, Eindhoven, Twente) in the field of ethics of science, technology and engineering. Recently, Wageningen University has also joined the 4TU federation. The joint venture allows for close collaboration in research as well as teaching, outreach and contract research in both the private and public sector. More specifically the mission of 4TU.Ethics is:
- To stimulate and undertake interdisciplinary and applied research in the field of ethics and technology;
- To stimulate and undertake fundamental research in ethics relevant for the field of ethics and technology;
- To stimulate and undertake activities in the field of teaching in ethics and technology;
- To act as an intermediary between the philosophy departments involved in 4TU.Ethics on the one hand and public debates and the media on the other.
