Module 4: Autonomous/Cooperative Driving and Human-centered Design of Automotive Systems

The education in this module is twofold. The main focus is on core aspects of powertrains (hybrid electric vehicles, topologies, optimization strategies, drive cycle synthesis), vehicle dynamics (analysis and simulation tools for the understanding of the behavior of a vehicle, including commercial vehicles, motor cycles, electric vehicles etc.) and control (motion control).

Furthermore attention is given to human-centered automation in the context of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Trainees will get an overview of human factors for automotive, perception/cognition, persuasive technology/trust; methodology of user-centered design, interaction design and guidelines for design of visual, auditory and haptic displays.
