Armand van der Helm

'Stervende Krijger' ('Dying Warrior')

Location: Helix, staircase, floor 2.

Armand van der Helm (1939-1969) unfortunately never had the chance to fully develop his artistic talents, as he passed away at the age of just thirty. He studied at the Royal Academy at The Hague and concentrated on sculptures in classical style. His main consideration was to make his plastic sculptures understandable for people. Women and horses were favourite subjects of his, and in this statue, 'Stervende Krijger' ('Dying Warrior') he combined the two.
