Dr. Ralph E. Gomory

Dr. Ralph E. Gomory, President of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation at New York, USA, and previously Senior Vice President for Science and Technology of IBM, is awarded an honorary doctorate for his pioneering work on integer linear programming. Virtually all computer programmes in this field are based on his cutting plane method.

Honorary tutor is prof.dr. Bert Gerards, professor of combinatorial optimization at the TU/e department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
