Admission and application

To be admitted to a PhD position, you need to have a Master's degree from a recognized university. A Master's degree in Biomedical or Medical Engineering is preferred, however depending on the subject you are admissible with alternative Master's degrees. All applicants need to have a sufficient level of English language skills.

Profile of a prospective TU/e PhD candidate

Academic excellence, independence, good (English) communication skills and the ability to work in a team are important qualities that you need to develop. You will write scientific publications, and give presentations at congresses and seminars to scientists in your own field. You will also carry out some teaching tasks. By doing a PhD you show that you are capable of carrying out independent research, and of writing and defending your PhD thesis. After that your are entitled to use the title of doctor (or PhD).
