Trainees 2014

Filip Anastasovski received his Software Engineer’s degree at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia, in October 2013. His final thesis project was in the field of Intelligent Systems and was titled “Weather forecast application with implementation of online machine learning”. After his graduation he worked for one and a half year as a software engineer for a Swiss company called “Netcetera AG”, specialized in tailor-made software.

Sarwan Dar received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Punjab University College of Information Technology, Pakistan, in 2011. He received his MS in Computer Science from the same university in 2014. During his education he got multiple scholarships from the university. His Master thesis focused on application partitioning for multi-core systems. The algorithm received a serial program and converted it into a parallel program based on the data dependencies between tasks. The algorithm at the time had the lowest time complexity of all the application partitioning algorithms. During his education he also worked as a software engineer for 2 years working on mobile app development and C# applications. His interests include software design and parallel application development.

Dongqi Hu received his bachelor degree in Electronic & Information Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 2008. His final project is "Design of LCD Controller". He received his master degree from Zhejiang University in 2011. His research field is Embedded System and Multimedia Application, and the diploma thesis is “Testbench of H.264 Hardware Decoder”. He worked in PPS Company, Shanghai in 2011, mainly doing research and developments in video codec for one P2P streaming video network software. He worked in Tuya Company, Beijing, in 2012, mainly doing logic developments for a 3D online FPS game “Army Rage”. From 2013 to 2014, he worked in Galaxy Company, Baoding, mainly focusing on digital picture processing for video surveillance and related applications. His main interests include digital picture processing, multimedia application and computer vision.

Dmitriy Ilin graduated in 2011 from the Mechanics and Mathematics department of the Novosibirsk State University in Novosibirsk, Russia, with a specialist’s diploma. and specialization in “Applied mathematics and  informatics” and qualification awarded is “Mathematician. System programmer”. He did thesis work  in collaboration with the A.P. Ershov Institute of Informatics Systems of the Siberian Branch of  Russian Academy of Sciences and Novosibirsk branch of Intel. The main goal was minimization the source  code of test programs on which Intel C/C++ compiler crashed or generate incorrect machine code. After the graduation he worked in 'Pararsoft' developing source code analyzer and in 'Private Trade' developing with web based e-commerce projects.

Ana Kostadinovska graduated at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia, in July 2013. Her final project entitled “Personal Health Records for Cardiac Patients” was carried out in Philips Research, in Eindhoven. The project resulted in a publication, published in Springer proceedings and presented at the international ICT Innovations Conference 2014, Ohrid, Macedonia.  During the last two semesters of her studies she held courses as a teaching assistant at the university. After her graduation she worked for one year as a software engineer for a Swiss company Inside Solutions AG, focused on AEM/CQ Consulting and Mobile Solutions.

Aldo Daniel Martinez Márquez received his Bachelor Diploma in Computer and Systems Engineering (2010) and MSc degree in Software Engineering(2012) from the UPAEP Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies, Puebla, Mexico. His Bachelor (An integrated vision and voice system for the service robot Nanisha) and Master (PSP and Evolutionary Model in a Face Recognition System for The Service Robot Donaxi) theses were about design and implementation of intelligent software for domestic robots. He is a former member of the UPAEP Control and Robotics Laboratory where he worked as a researcher from 2008 to 2013, during this time he developed software for robotics and competed in several national and international robotics contests such as Robocup (2009 - 2013 in @Home League). He has a natural passion for software engineering and he wants to increase his experience and expertise in an industrial environment.

Vladimir Mikovski received his MSc degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering (2012) from Complutense University of Madrid. His master thesis 'Muphic: Image-Based Automatic Musical Composition' studies the relationship between images and sound through synesthesia using algorithmic composition. It was awarded third place in Sopra Group competition. After his graduation he worked for two years as a software engineer for a Spanish company specialized in database systems. He published few android applications on the market as independent projects.

Irina Nikeshkina received her Engineer diploma in Software for Computers and Automated Systems from the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronic, Russia in 2012. Her diploma thesis, titled “Automated system for relational database designing”, was designed for data modeling basing on the IDEF1X method. She also received her Bachelor degree in management from Tomsk National Research Polytechnic University. The bachelor diploma thesis is titled “Methods of software implementation management”. After graduation she worked as a software developer at Geological Solution Ltd. during almost 2 years where she designed software for mineral exploration companies. After this she decided to worked as technical writer at Aurigma Ltd. where she designed demos for end-users and also got an opportunity to improve her English writing skills.

Jeroen Redegeld received his diploma of Computer Interface technique from ROC Zeeland in 2008. Afterwards he continued studying and received his degree of Bachelor of Engineering from the Avans University of Applied Sciences (Breda, the Netherlands) in 2011. In 2014 he received a Master of Science degree in Embedded Systems from Eindhoven University of Technology. In the Bachelor phase of his career he gained experience with developing and servicing circuit boards (PCBs) and its related embedded firmware in both academic and industrial context. Software became more important during the Master phase without losing focus on the related hardware. During the Master phase he studied the usage of formal methods in an industrial as described in his master theses titled ‘Formal verification of control software in X-Ray systems’. Furthermore, he has experience with VoIP/SIP based systems and wireless communication in a hobby context.

Spyridon Skoumpakis received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2013. During his studies he has specialized in Software Engineering, Data Mining and Computer Vision, resulting in his Master’s thesis “Workflow Extraction from UML Activity Diagrams”. The main objective of the thesis was the conceptual decomposition of UML images in a form that can be processed by both humans and machines. Furthermore, his working experience spans from IT support in Deutsche Telekom (Greece) to Software Developing as a member of a professional team engaged mostly on designing and maintaining Websites. Last but not least, he participated in an EU Lifelong Learning Program concerning Computer Science as a Tutor.

Luc de Smet completed his bachelor in Computer Science and his master in Computer Science and Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, graduating in 2014. His master thesis concerned combining process mining and queue analysis to provide operational support for business processes. The main topics of his interest are process and data mining, modeling and algorithms. He has some work experience in both educational and industry settings and hopes to expand his knowledge and experience in the Software Technology program.

Habtamu Aboma Tolera received his BSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia in 2007. His Bachelor thesis was on developing application for predicting text on mobile phones for one of Ethiopian language. Then he worked in ZTE Corporation before he left to pursue his master’s program in Italy.  He received his master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems  from Politecnico Di Torino (Polytechnic University of Turin), Italy in December 2013. His master’s thesis was on Vision-based Guidance of Autonomous Electric Vehicles, with the aim of guiding electric vehicles or robots  on different kind of tracks with maximum speed as much as possible. His research interest is in areas of embedded systems, real-time and safety-critical systems.

Tamir Tsedenjav received his BSc degree in Computer Science from National University of Mongolia in 2008. During his study period, he participated in a number of software contests successfully and received a job offer from one of the Japanese software companies named Udom Co.,Ltd. He worked there as a Software Engineer between 2008 and 2013. During the working period, he worked on a number of joined projects with Hitachi, Ltd., and was involved in the development of Automated Warehouse and ERP systems as a developer and tester. He is interested in Software Architecture and Design.

Juan David Villa Calle worked as an engineer at the research group AtlanMod (France), before becoming a PDEng student. His work focuses on the development of prototypes in the domain of Model Driven Engineering and Eclipse/EMF technologies. Juan David has a Master’s degree in Systems and Computer Engineering.

Yi Xiao received his Master degree (2013) and Bachelor degree (2010), both in Software Engineering from Beihang University. He is interested in mobile platform development and has worked as an Android application developer for several years. He carried out his final project in Baidu  (the largest Chinese search engine) on designing and implementing an Android-based client for Baidu Tieba, which is the largest Chinese online community. After he received his Master’s degree, he worked in a startup map company and implemented an indoor map & navigation client for Android.

Ronald van Zon received both his BSc and MSc degree from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Eindhoven University of Technology in 2012 and 2014, respectively. During his Master studies, he mainly focused on algorithms, data mining and information retrieval. His MSc thesis, performed at Omron in Barcelona, Spain, is titled “Dynamic real-time collision detection for packaging robots”. The thesis involves designing, implementing and testing (geometric) algorithms to perform collision detection in a real-time controller. During his studies he worked part-time at Suppliance, developing software for, e.g., back- and front-end systems, the synchronization between these systems and various related automatic processing tools.
