Record number of nominal Propaedeutic students BME

The Department of Biomedical Engineering awarded a record number of Propaedeutic diploma’s today. Approximately 50% of the students who started with the program last year, received their diploma. The diplomas were awarded during a festive gathering in the lecture hall of Gemini South.

Last year, 85 students started with the major Biomedical Engineering and 40 with the major Medical Sciences and Technology. 40 BME students received their diploma today. Among them were 4 students with the Cum Laude predicate. 21 Medical Sciences and Technology students also received their diploma, among them 6 Cum Laude.

During the ceremony the Professor Huson award was also handed out. This is an annual prize, awarded by the Department to the student with the highest average grade. Student Elke van den Biggelaar received this prize with an average grade of 9.1.
The Department gives the award of €2500,- (to be spend on travel and accommodation costs during an internship abroad) on the initiative of prof.dr. Anthony Huson.

We would like to congratulate all students with this great result and we hope to see everybody back in two years for the Bachelor’s Degree ceremony.
