European awards for Bert Meijer
Prof.dr. Bert Meijer, University professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology and scientific director of the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems, has received two prestigious European awards.
With an inaugural lecture in Brussels, he has received the 2013-2014 international Solvay chair for chemistry. The Solvay Institutes have been established in 1912 by Ernest Solvay and are renowned for the stimulus of the sciences. Bert Meijer will visit Belgium several weeks during the year 2013-2014 to deliver lectures and present the work of his group.
The ETH Zürich has awarded Bert Meijer the 2014 Prelog Medal. With this medal, named after Nobel laureate Vladimir Prelog, the work of chemists with extraordinary achievements is honored. In November 2014 Bert Meijer will receive the medal in Zürich.
