Max van Riel receives encouragement prize for young talent
On November 28th, the Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen handed out the yearly encouragement prizes for young talent. During the award ceremony in the Hodshon house in Haarlem, second year BMT student Max van Riel received the encouragement prize Biomedical Engineering from Michel van Bruggen, Department Head In-Body Systems Philips Research.
The encouragement awards are handed out for the best study results in the first study year on a Dutch institution for scientific education. In total the Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen handed out 55 ‘Young Talent encouragement prizes’, 15 ‘Young Talent graduation prizes’, a thesis prize and a teacher’s prize. This is the second prize Max van Riel received this year; during the propedeuse diploma ceremony he received the Professor A. Huson prize. The department of Biomedical Engineering yearly hands out the Professor A. Huson prize to the student with the highest average in the first year.
