The role of notochordal cells in disc degeneration and regeneration

Irene Arkesteijn

Notochordal cells are thought to be essential for the long-term health of the nucleus pulposus. The knowledge about their function and cellular processes is nevertheless very sparse. We will examine if notochordal cells have a regenerative potential for the nucleus pulposus and if so, how?
