Research meets practice
Generating and transferring innovative knowledge is a central precept of the academics, research and design within the Department of the Built Environment at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). One of the department’s primary aims is to remain innovative and adaptable in its academics and research, so that it can respond promptly to ever-evolving social issues. In the near future, it will be focusing on such broad, socially relevant topics as sustainability, information, energy and new materials.
To enhance its innovative strength, the department works closely with programs at three other Dutch universities (Delft, Twente and Wageningen), as part of the 4TU network. This collaboration paves the way to knowledge-intensive solutions and activities. At the same time, the department actively pursues partnerships with other large technology research organizations, such as TNO and ECN.
