After his graduation in 1981 Wim Heijs worked as a researcher at the Catholic University of Nijmegen and the Eindhoven University of Technology, conducting contract research on a large variety of subjects in the field of environmental and social psychology (e.g. hypothermia among elderly, residential comfort and dwelling needs, household energy use and recycling behavior, energy-related habitual behavior, road safety, social safety, office design and evaluation, sustainable and liveable environments, and the relations between attitudes, behavior and new technologies).
