Pauline van den Berg is an assistant professor of Real Estate Management and Urban Development at the Eindhoven University of Technology. She holds a MSc in Cultural Anthropology (Catholic University of Nijmegen), a MSc in Architecture, Building and Planning (Eindhoven University of Technology) and a PhD in Urban Planning (Eindhoven University of Technology). She is a board member of the International Society for Gerontechnology. Her research focuses on the impact of residential environments on human behavior and quality of life, smart and healthy cities, senior friendly neighborhoods, social contacts, active mobility, the spatial distribution of leisure and social activities and their consequences for housing and urban planning. Her work has been published in leading journals such as Environment and Planning A, B; Journal of Geographical Systems; Transportation; Transportation Research Part A, C; Travel Behaviour and Society. Her teaching includes supervision of several BSc and MSc projects.
