Evgeny A. Pidko (1982, Moscow, USSR) received his MSc in Chemistry in 2004 at the Higher College of Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia). He earned his PhD in Chemistry from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 2008. In 2010 he was awarded a prestigious STW Veni grant. Shortly afterwards in 2011 he was appointed an Assistant Professor in the department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry and in the Institute of Complex Molecular Systems at TU/e. In summer 2012 he was a visiting scholar in the group of prof. C. Copéret at ETH Zurich. His research interests mostly lie in the field of molecular catalysis and its application to sustainable chemical technologies. In his research he combines theoretical chemistry with experiments to formulate design rules for new and improved catalytic systems.
