Karthikeyan Gnanasekaran is a post-doctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Materials and Interface Chemistry, TU Eindhoven. In May 2016, he obtained his Ph.D. in “Quantitative Nanoscopy of Conductive Hierarchical Materials” at Eindhoven University of Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Gijsbertus de With and Dr. Heiner Friedrich. Currently, he is working on developing quantitative (scanning) transmission electron microscopy imaging techniques for low-contrast and beam sensitive materials.
Karthikeyan Gnanasekaran is a materials scientist specialized in 2D/3D electron microscopy imaging, image processing and quantitative image analysis of beam sensitive and low contrast materials. In addition to that, his expertise extends to the in-silico tools development and analysis of interaction of electrons with materials towards developing material specific models and optimizing (S)TEM imaging conditions. He is also experienced in polymer fabrication and processing, and their associated characterization techniques. Overall, his knowledge and expertise covers a broad spectrum of materials science, electron microscopy imaging and quantitative image analysis.
