In pulsed power research much progress was made with the multiple switching approach. A pilot set up with four spark-gap switches and a TLT (Transmission Line Transformer) is operational. It was found that the four switches close in two distinctive phases. A large multiple-switch pulse source was designed and constructed. It includes ten spark-gap switches and ten coaxial cables, one per switch. A demonstration has been made. It is no problem at all for the ten switches to synchronize which is a matchless result in pulsed power technology. For this experiment a unique design of a 80 kV pulse transformer has been realized and successfully tested with 28 J energy per pulse.
