STW valorisation project

The Corona Feasibility program with external partners has started. An STW valorization project has been included as part of this activity. A study of the technology in the nearest and least risk full application of odor reduction has started. A first activity is the design of a dedicated power modulator and reactor. The work with industry on the adaptive plasma concept has been applied for surface treatment applications.

The developed multiple plasma torch operates partly in thermal and partly in non-thermal mode, depending on the parameters of the energizing pulsed power circuit. A single pulse source can drive the multiple plasma torch. Initial results show that multiple torches can be synchronized on a ns-timescale and that a homogeneous energy distribution among the torches is possible. A stable and well controlled plasma jet could be realized with the torch. In other application directed work with industry partners successful results were obtained in pulsed power driven fracture.
