Tangible and Physical Interaction

Description from UCE perspective

The increasing digitization of information and interaction makes Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) an obvious but not always the most optimal choice when designing interactivity. Within the UCE group we explore the potential of Tangible User Interfaces (TUIs) and other types of physical interaction. From a research-through-design perspective we develop case studies with working prototypes, frameworks and design guidelines for a diverse range of application areas involving physical interaction, e.g. tabletop interaction, supporting human memory, supporting social interaction, stimulating physical play and gaming.
