We introduce a new concept of intelligent system that allows users to interact with products unconsciously. Consciousness and unconsciousness are two distinct processing system of human mind. Although they cannot be accessed directly, emotions were found to have strong connections with both of the systems. Most previous studies about emotions relied on self-assessment, which seems not feasible to unconsciousness. Therefore, we propose to find the correlation between emotion and external stimuli via physiological methods. According to Jung’s archetype theory, universal symbolic contents are considered to be the media that help convey notions to human unconsciousness. Therefore, our research will start with mapping emotions and universal symbolic content. Based on this, it is expected to build an intelligent system and utilize this system to enhance experiences for not only human-computer interaction but also human-human interaction.
