The Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences works together with various research institutes. An overview:
Intelligent Lighting Institute
The TU/e Intelligent Lighting Institute (ILI) was established in 2010 to investigate novel intelligent lighting solutions that will become within our reach by the large-scale introduction of LED technology, with a special emphasis on how these new solutions might affect people. In addition ILI aims at providing scientific evidence for the claims that go with these novel lighting solutions.
The Beta Research School for Operations Management and Logistics is a research school in which several scientific disciplines contribute to a deeper understanding of the performance of operational processes. It has a multidisciplinary focus on the analysis, design and control of operational processes.
TKI (Top consortium Knowledge and Innovation) is the cooperation within which Dinalog, TNO and NWO act jointly to boost innovation in logistics. TKI-Dinalog, NWO, TNO want to structurally improve the cooperation between commerce, knowledge institutes and government. In this cooperation we work hard on innovation, but also on sharing knowledge, experience and results.
The Graduate Program Operations Management & Logistics provides students from different universities in the Netherlands with specialized in-depth PhD courses with a close connection to actual research on Operations Management & Logistics topics.
4TU Centre for Ethics and Technology
The 4TU.Centre for Ethics and Technology (4TU.Ethics) is one of the six Centres of Excellence of the 4TU.Federation. 4TU.Ethics brings together the expertise of the three philosophy departments of the Dutch Universities of Technology in the field of ethics of science, technology and engineering.
The mission of the research platform Eindhoven Center for Innovation Studies is to enhance our understanding of the sources, nature and effects of innovation processes. The research aims to provide useful insights for an effective governance/management of innovation processes at regional, national and international levels.
The Data Science Center Eindhoven (DSC/e) is TU/e’s response to the growing volume and importance of data. Data science is growing in importance and becoming an integral part of different types of engineering and scientific research. The center is run as a doctoral school with a scientific research program consisting of seven major research programs.
N.W. Posthumus Institute
The N.W. Posthumus Institute (NWP) is the Research School for Economic and Social History in the Netherlands and Flanders. It includes research on non-Western history, world history and social-cultural history. The Posthumus Institute promotes innovative and advanced interdisciplinary research in economic and social history by stimulating joint research programmes of participating institutes and provides a PhD training in economic and social history.
