Industria study association
Industria, the study association, promotes the interests of students of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences and Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences for the Healthcare Sector at TU/e in the broadest sense of the word. It does this by:
- supporting students with their courses
- offering students opportunities for self-development
- providing opportunities to find one’s way in the job market
- fostering integration between the various students of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences and Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences for the Healthcare Sector
Industria was founded in 1963 by a couple of students of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences in Eindhoven. Today, the association has some 1100 members and has grown to become one of Eindhoven’s largest study associations.
The association organizes quality activities that realize the above aims. Both organizing these activities and participating in them form useful additions to the department’s curriculum. Industria’s success is achieving its aims is due in part to its close ties with the department, its contacts with other study associations and its valuable contacts with trade and industry.

Intermate study association
Intermate is the study association of the Bachelor’s degree program of Industrial Innovation Sciences and the Master’s degree programs of Innovation Sciences and Human-Technology Interaction at the TU/e’s Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences.
Intermate’s aim is to promote the interests of the students taking these courses. In addition, Intermate promotes contacts between students and between students and lecturers, the rest of the university and trade and industry. In pursuit of this, Intermate is active in four areas:
- course-related activities
- activities related to education
- the provision of information
- informal activities
Intermate is run entirely by students. Many of its members are active on one of its many committees. These committees organize very many activities. The association is run by a council that consists of five students who spend a year working full time in this role.
